and from Michael Marley's ppa and rebooted. No problems with mutter, so

If I simply type "avidemux" as a normal user and press return, X
spontaneously restarts every time. This problem with X also happens

Having significant problems with X.org. Absorbing 100% of CPU a lot of
the time. Seems to be with Mozilla apps - Firefox and Thunderbird. Seems

I can't play any video without many frames skipping. This makes Ubuntu

I can confirm this bug, 100% usage on 1 core, log out and back in solves it

I had problem with same kind of symptoms (upgraded to karmic today,
failed to load i810). Both with my old xorg.conf and without any.
What helped was a new xorg.conf file with
Section "Device"
Identifier "Configured Video Device"
driver "intel"
EndSection
Section "Monitor"
just an update -
I've installed karmic koala beta, and this problem still persists. However, I
haven't had the redrawing issues yet.

I have a 256MB 8400M GS which reports 512MB in the same manner yours
reports double. It looks like the nvidia drivers allocate some system
memory for a cache and show it as the memory there. If you do a lspci -v

When I try rotating with xrandr, I get an errors. Rotating DID work on
