Since at least karmic alpha5 mesa and radeon are compiled against
libdrm_radeon and should work with KMS.

The intel driver will require additional patching. A lot has changed
since this component of the bug was originally declared "fixed".

Just adding those patches doesn't do anything, drivers have to be
modified to provide the other half the functionality. Honestly I'm not
even sure if that is going to fix this problem, seems to be something
nvidia specific.
