While I understand that Karmic is pretty much guaranteed to ship with

Yes, EXA support has been removed as of 2.7.99.x, and specifying that in
xorg.conf has no effect.

installed successfully Catalyst 9.5 from AMD's site, and now I upgraded
to 9.6. I built the Ubuntu/9.04 drivers and then installed them all (you
can pass --help to the installer and it explains how to build packages
for your distro)
This is because of patch 104_always_enable_tapping.patch in xserver-
xorg-input-synaptics which hard codes the initial tapbutton values in
the source, and the values need to be different when in left handed
mode.

like a bug to me. Acceleration doesn't affect the base speed of the
pointer when you're moving the mouse slowly, only when you move it
faster. So acceleration less than 1 is saying "when I move my mouse

I am still experiencing the issues reported here with Blender after an
upgrade to kernel 2.6.30.
To upgrade the kernel, I have followed the "Optimal" configuration

I think XPtrFeedbackState, accelNum, accelDenom have been around for 20
years or more. Maybe there should be a constraint that accelNum >=
accelDenom, but it is not apparent to me where there should be.

Dear Bryce,
Thank You for the Bug Trace. I think I reset something stoppingthe X crash
problem: I ran a distro of "Minix", a live version minimum linux just for
fun, then it somehow fixed it The only thing left to do is set the sleep
functions properly.
I will closely examine the reports.
