Hi Dave,
Will do - sorry about the delay, your emails keep ending up in my
spambox irrespective of me telling them not to go there!. xdiagnose is
showing as already installed and I think it was installed when I ran
apport previously. However, I will run it again and see what happens.

Sorry, I forgot to ask you to do something prior to the apport-collect; can
you install the xdiagnose package and then redo the apport-collect 858046-
that will then add *loads* of info about your X setup.
