John Hibdon, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com

There is a work around I posted it on Kubuntu forum
requires small edit to a file 62-?? can't recall name also works in 11.10
but does not work in 12.04 because file does exist and adding it does work.

This bug affects me on two machines, each one upgraded from natty.
The keyboard works fine in the bios and the grub boot promt and stops working
at the unity login prompt.
