This bug hit's me too with my old powerbook G4 17" with finnish keyboard. The keyboard is the weird one that mac's ship with. Even I used xmodmap to make the extra enter key on the right side of the space and right apple key to be altgr, I only manage get some symbols correct. Now I do get @ sign u

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and making Ubuntu better. Perhaps your suggestion would be a good idea, although the apple keys have their own use in Ubuntu as "super" modifiers. Could you attach a picture of your keyboard, so the developers will know what they're dealing with?
