By accident, I found that by running NVIDIA Xserver setting, right click
on the NVIDIA icon on unity menu bar, and mark it as "Always show" is
enough to have the same effect as running the same program f
Today I installed NVIDIA Driver 270.41.19 and still the same problem. So
I have still start the "NVIDIA X Server Settings" before I can watch a
video on my pc.

today I tried Ubuntu 10.04 Beta 1. This version has the same problem. A
black screen when playing videos, until you start "NVIDIA X Server
Settings". Then your black screen disappears and you can finally watch
your video.
