this bug is still present in 10.04 . i dont know about the other
versions ( i havent used them yet) . it started a few days ago after i
had installed the latest updates. i dont know the specifics but will
help out if one could tell me what tests to run to determine what it is
about.

I am seeing the same green goo around the logo when booting the i386
desktop live CD. Per lspci, my graphics hardware is:
01:05.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RS482 [Radeon
Xpress 200]
This happens with both 10.04 and 10.10.
