Thanks. The white screen is because a 1360x...@60 is chosen which the
display does not support. For some reason it is listed among the valid
modes.

yes. it was the update of gnome-settings-daemon from 2.32.0-0ubuntu1 to
2.32.0-0ubuntu2.
i'll attach 3 versions of xrandr:
1) xrandr-white.txt
xrandr output after downgrading to 2.32.0-0ubuntu1. Blind login in white screen
and created the output in white panel
2) xrandr-white-f7.txt
output afte
I wonder if it has to do with today's gnome-settings-daemon update. Can you
please attach xrandr output:
xrandr --verbose -d :0 > xrandr.txt
If it goes white again, please run this command on the text console.

I can not reproduce any more. Don't know if its because of playing
arround with FN-F7 once, or because of the system update of today.

with FN-F7 (thinkpad specific extern monitor switch) i can switch from
white screen to loginscreen. Then getting a white panel. Again FN-F7 and
it works until reboot/relogin.
