Evtouch is going to be removed from the archive starting in natty,
closing bugs that become obsolete due to that. Use the 'evdev' driver
for touchscreens.

Now the config file is located at
/usr/lib/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-evtouch.conf. put the values of you fdi file
there and it should work, this is mine for a 7"touchsc...@1024x768:

I just attempted in ubuntu 10.04 the procedure which worked in 9.04 ...
and it did not work.
apt-get install xserver-xorg-input-evtouch:
- does NOT create the file 50-touchkit.fdi in
/usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/20thirdparty
- does NOT install calibrate_touchscreen
- when 50-touchkit.fdi is copied t
I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 9.04 amd64 on this same computer.
Then I did apt-get install xserver-xorg-input-evtouch
Then edited /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/20thirdparty/50-touchkit??.fdi to reflect
the hardware I'm using.
Reboot and now works as desired. swapx=1 in this fdi file re-verted the x
Tried uninstalling evtouch and removed my fdi file to see what would
happen.
Same result, but Xorg.0.log says:

Touchscreen - Dell (/dev/input/mouse2)

Now I put the fdi file
