Hello,
I run kubuntu karmic 9.10 on x86 64 and i was just speaking on irc when
KDM hang on, make a serious crash of desktop and finally i needed to cut
off the power to stop it.
In my KDM log, i see a backtrace and
The last apport-collect are make right after my new crash system, when i
rebooted it.
The bug is appear when i clicked on the Quassel icon, in the taskbar to
reduce it. Then all graphic crashed and no system respond .
I hope that's can help a bit more

Hello Robert,
I has some problems with the graphic since Karmic but never when i don't
start anything.
If i see it again, i will make a new apport-collect and hope that's the
new infos will help you.
