sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
then reboot.
while booting
grub loading
showing splash screen

unfortunately, I can confirm this crash on a Thinkpad X24 that I updated
to lucid today.
Here are the last lines from my Xorg.0.log

If not, could you describe the conditions under which the crash tends to occur?
ans : this crash is happening while booting. after splash. refer image i
attached. first four line are display and hung. i am able to access terminal
alt+f1.

today i can run ubuntu lucid alpha 2 live cd ( 23rd daily iso cd lnive cd.)
without any problem. what to do now.
