mirror = error
single external monitor - 1650 x 1080 = error
dual head monitor - 1650 x 1080 and 1280 x 1024 = error
single notebook lcd monitor - 1024 x 768 = Ok!

Your pictures don't match the original description, and besides this bug

I would recommend testing a natty livecd and see if you can reproduce
