As a workaround, you can get a working environment with vesa.
First, blacklist i915. That's done adding a line saying:
blacklist i915 to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
By the way, that blacklist worked with the 2.6.31-5 kernel. With
2.6.31-4 it didn't.
Then configure xorg (/etc/X11/xorg.conf) to

Render acceleration should be disabled for now, since it doesn't seem
like getting fixed anytime soon. There's a fresh patch to disable it in
the Debian package.
