Screen freeze when switch
No it is more like the video gets locked up.
The screen is frozen, but I can still use Ctrl-Alt-F1 to switch to a new
console and log it.
But I didn't have any luck killing things to free up the X server.

Then did an install of the Xenial daily live image and it shows the same
problem.

Updating the BIOS on a laptop with no CD and no Windows is a PITA.
It took me an hour to get it right.
$ sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
G6ETB2WW (2.72 )
