Andrei Petcu, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an
issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development
release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/cur
The fact that we are only 2 people affected by this is making me wonder
what app do we have installed that causes this. I just removed jayatana
to see if this happenes again. Do you have jayatana installed? Maybe it
is not a xorg problem.

I found a workaround that does not imply restarting lightdm:
Alt+Control+F1 and then Alt+Control+F7
This is a decent workaround
