Karmic fell over, and it wasn't getting back up again, so i've
reinstalled 9.04, and i think i'll revel in stability for a while now,

i've edited /etc/usplash.conf and added a couple of lines to try to set
the resolution, but this didn't help.

FIXED! :D I just ran more updates, rebooted, and it worked!FYI I think
it was xserver-xorg 1:7.4~5ubuntu20 and xserver-xorg-core
2:1.6.1.901-2ubuntu1 that were installed. All the best, thankyou!
