I can suppress the behavior temporarily by switching the resolution of
making any changes to the Display settings that cause a refresh (e.g.
change to a lower resolution). Simply discarding the changes will give a
working session. Reloading the GNOME session will only very briefly
affect the phenom

I'm encountering this problem in both Ubuntu 20.04 and Pop OS 20.04.
When I boot the default X11 session on my AMD graphics card

I get a 1 pixel line above the Gnome statu
Since mouse button behavior is largely governed by evdev in later
versions I must assume the problems stem from the event managing
somewhere since I experienced the issues with Kernel 3.0.0.19 under
Ubuntu 11.10 and now it's back with 3.2.x under 12.04
