Oh sorry, the thing was that the 12.3 driver didn't want to install,
raised an error. Settings were not saved with the shipped fglrx driver.

I can confirm that even with the 12.3 driver, settings applied in

Hi, I'm experiencing the same issue with latest update of 12.04.
STEPS:
1. Launch AMD Catalyst control center (admin mode) from Dash
2. Change resolution and click "Apply"
OBSERVED RESULT:
New resolution is set but Catalyst Control Center closes immediately.
There is no crash report.

After installation of Ubuntu 9.10 on my Computer with iiyama LCD
monitot, I found that I had a choice between two resolutions: 640x480
and 800x600 which should not be correct. On the LiveCD-version of Ubuntu
9.10 I had a better resolution.

but that just made my touchpad inactive...

I can confirm this bug on my Dell Inspiron 510m with AlpsPS/2 ALPS
GlidePoint touchpad. Downgrading to version 0.99.3-2ubuntu4 fixes the
problem. However, the downgrade triggers bug #327428: some pixels can
not be reached anymore.
By the way, doing 'rmmod psmouse; modprobe psmouse proto=imps' make
