I also saw, also in KDE panorama works wron (of course I use Gnome
normaly, but Kde is here also installed)

I have a panorama monitor with resolution 1440x900.
After I upgrade Ubuntu to Maverick Beta, I always have the screen expanded
before login...
Fortunately after login all is ok.

Now blender work, but first very slow, and second it's not stabily
When I want to select color I got this:

As you see it's about radeon (look before last line)
