I was having strange un smooth scrolling in videos and video games, and
sections of the GUI like the taskbar would disappear for a second or
two. I moved to the 470 driver, and all the problems went away. I simple
wanted to give you the pertinent information. Hopefully I have

I run Xubuntu 12.04.3 LTS 64 bit version. I also have this problem with
fglrx and fglrx-updates.
Logging out and back in solves the issue. This issue doesn't show up on
every boot, it happens about one in every three or four boots.

I use xubuntu 12.04.2 lts 64 bit version.
When this issue happens, I have a blinking cursor in 5 or 6 places on my
desktop.
I think what is happening is the tty screen(s), like tty1 are bleeding
through to the desktop.
