NVS4200M graphics chipset. It's set up as an Optimus graphics card, but

I don't personally own this laptop, but I just finished helping a
relative and here is what I've found.
1. In his setup it's a kernel update, using the older kernel works. Can you do
the same? (3.2.0-24-generic vs. 3.2.0-32-generic)

Nope, new kernel didn't help; it actually made things worse. I've
attached my dmesg showing the BUG message. When booting I end up seeing
the text output from the boot process with a mouse cursor on top of it.
If it switch to another VT then back to VT 7 everything paints
correctly.

When this happens attaching gdb to compiz shows it is stuck waiting in a
call to glXWaitVideoSyncSGI so it's not going to be a compiz issue here.
Upgrading to 2.6.38 didn't solve it, I still get this every other day or
so. Next time it happens I'll see if I can get any info. Apport doesn't
collect
Since this is something between nux and fglrx (dunno if it's the lack of
GL_EXT_stencil_two_side or not) I'm closing the compiz task.

Thorsten: You're saying you get a crash in
nux::IOpenGLSurface::UnlockRect() when using the radeon driver? Any
other problem (like unity telling you you can't use it) is not the same
bug.
