I have my desktop set to blank automatically after 10 minutes, but 90%
of the time it doesn't actually blank.
If I manually lock the screen, then it blanks immediately.

I figured out how to switch to Wayland. The problem does not exist when
I use Wayland, so it appears to be an X11-specific issue on Ubuntu 24.
