Public bug reported: Binary package hint: x11-xserver-utils This is occuring in 10.04 (install and live) and 9.10 (install and live). So I tried the live CD of the 10.10 beta release and attached an external monitor to my Dell E5410. It was working like a charm after running xrandr --auto. Both
