More on the issue: For 1 second it shows the desktop, then goes into a
black/white static noise, no errors or debug info can tell what is
wrong. This is repeated every time I turn on the HDMI connection.
(hopefully this is the correct arena for this bug)

Just for information I added the package libxcb-glx to ia32-libs and put
my own build up at:
https://launchpad.net/~freshwine/+archive/ppa
It works great and it is a solution until when Scott has the time to
update the original package.

Oh, missed that I used their version of ia32-libs, sorry.
But which library is missing? That way it is no hurry, at least for me,
to rebuild ia32-libs, and I could ask them to include it as well.

I use a Sony Bravia KDL-40W4000 through HDMI, a 40" TV that is reported
as a 70". The same goes for my pioneer receiver which forwards a 70"
screen.
