I've made some ivestigation. I reinstalled with Natty than dist-upgrade: same result. I reinstalled with Oneiric daily dvd: same result. If I changed from gdm to lightdm, I got the login windows, but completely frozen as no keyboard or mouse response. I tried with nomodeset, doesn't count. -- Y

Public bug reported: I installed Natty than upgraded to Onieric. When I start the computer, gdm is not starting many times. Sometimes it's OK. I don't see what is the difference when it's success and when it's not. See the reports, please. I assume it's a xorg and/or upstart problem. ProblemTy
