I have a Nvidia Chipset, so I don't think it depends on the sound card.
The ATI Device is my Grafic Card with HDMI Output.
# lspci | grep -i audio

I have the same problem that my left mouse button stops working after
using special keys on my Microsoft keyboard.
Mouse: Logitech G5
Keyboard: Microsoft Digital Media Keyboard 3000
