And I think it is somehow related to fglrx. On Karmic+fglrx I had to add "noapic" option to grub and as a result notify-osd worked great. On Lucid+open-source ati I didn't have to do nothing - it worked out-of- the-box. However on Lucid+fglrx, adding "noapic" hasn't changed anything. It's broken on

I have installed this driver on a clean, freshly installed ubuntu 10.04 beta. As a result, the system is unbootable - it doesn't go any further than a purple screen - the GDM doesn't start and the system freezes.
