Even in virtual console it freezes.
Steps I performed.
1) Login to my desktop session
2) Run command "pgrep Xorg" to get the pid. Lets say 1122
3) Then I pressed "control-alt-f2" to go to virtual console.
4) Run command "pgrep Xorg" to get the pid and it was same i.e 1122
5) Run comm
Yes, I am doing it locally. Not ssh. I have no way to ssh. Is it not
good to do it locally ? If so then I am afraid I cant give output
regarding this bug.

Trust me, installing fglrx also causes crash and that too frequently.
Seeing so I installed open-source Radeon driver. The problem is

I think this is a known issue.
"(exe:3093): Gdk-WARNING **: XID collision, trouble ahead", this log came from
chrome running flash (eg. Yahoo Chess). In the past the issue was regarding
firefox but it is not. This is bug is causing system crashes(restarts).

Hi Bryce,
Thanks for looking into this issue.
After getting so many system crashes I reverted back to Ubuntu 10.04 ,in
fear of getting my hard disk corrupted, where this issue not there. I
use default driver (no fglrx) and the system is quite stable. If you
want I can give you logs or information

Like it might happpen while booting system, browsing thru the internet
(specially on sites with rich ajax,js,or flash)

Today, system crashed(restarted) 2 times.
1) Opening some site containing(java scripts) on firefox 10 browser.
2) Opening yahoo chess online (on flash player which contains javascripts as
well) also caused system crash.This happened both on chrome and firefox.
I think javascript somehow caused xo

When I first get the login screen, after I submit username - password
the login screen distorts for few seconds then the Desktop is shown.
This happens whatever desktops is chosen on the login screen.
