I have a other monitor now. A newer one. Guess what this one works great
:). My guess is that the HDMI standard on the monitor is not compatible
with the way implemented in Ubuntu. If there is anyone interested i
still have the old monitor working under windows and i am willing to
help / test fixin

I already upgraded to 11.10. One thing i know for sure is that it is not
a hardware issue. Because the first time it worked. After a reboot i had
again the old issue. A few days ago i had also one boot that worked like
it should be i am unable to reproduce the working situat

Added pictures of both screens. The correct one is conected by VGA. The
other screen, and i tried several. is connected by displayport. The
picture is of a 16:9 screen with a 4:3 resolution but thats not the
issue.

The colors on the screen connected to the display port are incorrect.
