instead of corrupted screen, I get bumped back to logon.
Manually selecting sleep appears to work fine, only closing the lid
kicks of the problem, and doesn't set the system to sleep. Big problem
if you don't notice as you get cooked laptop in bag.

got one, but for some reason unknown, the mkdir command wouldn't work

is in the wrong directory

Further to the description, if a video is playing full screen during a
`cycle' event, it continues uninterrupted but the screen goes blank and
only refreshed after movement of the mouse or a keyboard press.

It appears for me the problems only occur if compiz / visual effects are
enabled.
Without suspend / resume is flawless
With I get about 60 seconds to gdm restart or I get a system freeze
followed by manual fsck after hard reset.

I get a similar behavior on my Lenovo intel core 2 with x86
Found if I `quickly' go to tty3 and /etc/init.d/gdm restart &
/etc/init.d/NetworkManager restart I can get full functionality back. If
I don't act quickly it can result in a full system freeze

On my dual monitor system, at apparently random intervals with no
particular pattern. (Both during activity and not, user and otherwise)
One, or more often both monitors (One LCD one CRT) will blank, and
return 1 second
