Public bug reported:
I've been experiencing pretty bad screen tearing on 17.10 on my XPS 13
9560 with Kaby Lake. I did not experience this on 16.04/16.10 and IIRC
not even on 17.04.
After a lot of hit and trial, I was able to fix the issue completely by
disabling Intel PSR mode in Grub config.
C
The issue was with mutter, working fine on natty. I'll test old unity again on
maverick and update the report accordingly.
Thanks

The exact same thing but mine also freezes when I switch on my laptop
bluetooth.
Going back to Maverick install for now. Sharing '/home' between installs saved
my day.

@Robert I did that but mutter started just fine. No crash.
