An interesting thing I noticed is that, upon login into the VT, ubuntu tells me that there is a "new release" available (13.04) and that I sould use do-release-upgrade to upgrade to it. Perhaps something went wrong in the upgrade process. Actually trying to run do-release-upgrade tells me that the
