I have installed the package from http://packages.debian.org/squeeze-
backports/i386/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/download which does not
contain the Unity MT Grab handles patch. This makes 3 finger tapping to
middle click work again.
So please, remove these patches or modify them to three finger

It doesn't matter which desktop environment is used (unity, gnome, xfce), it's
the video driver that's causing the problem. Sometimes it gets so bad, I
couldn't do any work. So I switched back to 10.04. If it is the same for you,
I'd suggest you switch back as well.

Hi, I just tested the x220t with the 2.6.39-3 kernel.
The result isn't what I expected. The curser doesn't jump to the 0,0 position
anymore. But the mouse is not moving to the absolute finger position. You can
move it by sliding with your finger over the screen (like the touchpad).

Using a Kensington Orbit Trackball here and don't want to hack my
xorg.conf. It's not a new user thing to do, and just because everyone
here is assumed (rightly, I hope) to be competent enough to do so does
not mean that everyone using ubuntu will be able to. I'm not seeing why
having this enabled
@Ernest, yes, that's how I, too, like it. It's extremely useful to have
so much border estate. I used to have such a setup a decade ago when I
was still using windows, but unfortunately haven't been able to use such
a setup yet after switching to linux.

I think I am having the same problem; seemingly randomly, the screen
goes blank then flashes white vertical stripes in the top half of the
screen every 3 seconds or so. I've attached output of lspci -vvnn and
dmesg as per one of the first posts, as well as Xorg.0.log copied from
immediately after
I have the same problem using 10.10 amd64
The following lines solves my problem:
Xephyr :1 -noreset &
sleep 1
xkbcomp :0 :1
DISPLAY=:1 ssh -X u...@localhost gnome-session

It would be good to know whether LD_LIBRARY_PATH is ignored in $HOME/.profile,
