Hello,
I installed ubuntu 16.04 on the vintage asus eeepc 701.
However, i915 is giving me warnings on dmesg and it is unstable, specially on
vt-switch (I cannot go back to X).
I'll attach what dmesg shows me.

I isolated the problem.
I have both kubuntu and ubuntu 12.04b2 installed. Whenever one of them
update the kernel, it replaces the grub2 configuration. Anyway, the
other (k)ubuntu is detected by /etc/grub.d/30_os-prober and its entries
are added to grub menu.

kde (kdm) gets on.

I installed kubuntu beta2 from LiveCD. After installing, it reboots as
expected. Since then, just after grub, my second display just starts to
flick. It shows at the first top 10px the content of this display (which
also flicks but shows some content). I'll attach a photo to
The crash is random. Sometimes it freezes the kernel when I try to
restart X (after the problem) while others not. I reproduced it more
than once just pressing maximize button several times in konsole.
For now, I disabled kde effects and I'm getting a better stability.

Nvidia module in kubuntu 11.04 is crashing the system. I still get access
through ssh.
