I hope this helps, it's still the same system, but there's been a lot of
updates since then. right now I'm running Linux kaosPro 2.6.32-14

evdev module not loaded, so no keyboar

After upgrading form Karmic To Lucid I had no mouse or keyboard in X,
outside X everything was fine. X reported:
"eviocgname failed inappropriate ioctl for device"
unfortunately this is from my google search, and not from the Xl
