Unfortunately I cannot tell precisely since it was relatively long ago,
but icons went away (in LightDM, Gnome, Unity...) while the video module
seemed to work, so maybe it had something to do with libpng? I don't

Because the issue came with an update then ~2 weeks later disappeared
also with an update. But first and foremost it's cause I'm a noob and
the downloaded update fixed it for me, so I thought it was a fix... I'm
sorry for my ignorance!

This bug doesn't affect me anymore. It appeared after an update (but I'm
on Saucy dev branch anyway) and also disappeared with an update ~2 weeks
later.

Xorg assert failure: X: ../../../../include/privates.h
I'd like to add that LighDM do appear, but partially. There's no top
menu and background. After entering my credentials the login screen
hangs. I tried to reinstall Unity and LightDM, but it didn't help,
unfortunately the same symptoms remain.
