monitor, but not the second. A custom background image is used on both

I tried installing the xorg-edgers ppa; after doing dist-upgrade the
machine won't load the display manager). I can switch to a virtual
console VT but no graphical output after the plymouth splash screen.

The machine I'm seeing the issue on is an HP Elitebook 8440p. I also
have Kubuntu trusty installed on a Dell E6320 that does not exhibit this
issue. Both use the i915 driver, so there's at least some variation in
that.

Fonts corrupted on Openoffice m
I run Nvidia, ubuntu 10.04, and twinview. I originally saw this under
kubuntu when I upgraded in Claws. I quickly switched to Gnome which
fixed that problem, but then I saw it in gvim - not always, but most of
the time. I haven't had any problem with OpenOffice. I fixed it by "set
ttyscroll=0" in m
Same problem on my new Sony i7 VPCF132FX. Problem confirmed by Canonical
support, case #14835.
On Ubuntu, Garbles screen after install of NVidia driver.
On Kubuntu, Screen freezes after reboot.
