Here's the clue to a solution for this (mentioned by "chrysn" over at
the Xorg IRC channel. The issue is triggered by pressing and holding the
shift key for 8s. Again pressing and holding the shift key for another
8s resolves the issue. Odd.

So far, my conclusion is that something in xserver-xorg-input-evdev (?)
was changed from 11.10 to 12.04 that causes this sporadic behavior.
Now, if anyone could supply a temporary workaround for this bug, it
would be highly appreciated - like reloading a module or some such.

Update: This is not a problem local to the Lenovo X200.
I have changed to a Samsung Series 9 laptop, and the problem showed up
also here.

Specification; When the bug occurs, I can press any key and hold it, and
it registers after it would normally start repeating. (But it doesn't
start repeating until yet another such interval - half a second or so).
Makes for reay slow typing, this :)
