I run Ubuntu 18.04 on a Dell Precision 7540. Most of the time I use
this through a Dell WD19DC dock. The dock is connected to a Trendnet
TK-240DP KVM Switch.
If I have the laptop clamshell closed, like I normally do, and switch my

The precise-proposed version of nvidia-173 work for me too. I am going
to set the tag to verification-done, since I think the above poster that
had trouble is probably having general X configuration problems, rather
than problems with this bug.

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xorg
Graphics almost work with old silicon motion SM712 card. However,
distorted lines appear on the screen. I will post a screenshot or
picture to demonstrate.
I tried enabling the NoAccel option for the xorg driver, but this did
not fix the problem.
