Occasionally, when opening the lid on my ThinkPad x201s, the screen
doesn't switch on. Rebooting by switching to VT1 and pressing ctrl-alt-
del works, but the screen stays off until the moment of reboot.

Since upgrading to Maverick, the display on my ThinkPad X201s flickers
when viewing stripy patterns, like the attached image. I tried
