Reinstalling restored touchpad functionality.
I did install and remove xfstt. I wonder if that caused the problem?
I had also been using the xrandr command but that shouldn't have caused
a lock-out of the device.
There was no problems when booting to Windows 7, both keyboards and mice
were recog

changed but this has me stumped.
I'm obviously using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Beta 2.
Hardware is an ASUS Zenbook UX31.
