I'm having the same issue on Precice Pangolin Ubuntu 12.04 running on an
HP 8530w with the Quadro card.
I loaded 11.10 on an HP 8740w with a newer Nvidia card and don't have
this issue.
Still stuck though on my 8530.

I moved to kernel version 2.6.36-020636-generic #201010210905 several
days ago and have done many suspend/resume and dock/undock in my HP
8530W notebook without any issues with system lockup or freeze. I also

Same problem and noticed this weekend while working in Google Chrome
browser that after scrolling down page several times, seemed to cause
the lock up as well.
