I've used a Thinkpad Edge E220S before, and I don't believe the problem
mentioned in comment #14 is the same. It's the direct opposite,
actually.
The Edges have hyper-sensitive touchpads that move the cursor even when
your finger is stationary. Increasing the V/H-Hysteresis stabilizes the
pointer
Looks like an ABI break in libdrm-nouveau, which resulted in a SONAME
bump from libdrm-nouveau.so.1 to libdrm-nouveau.so.2.

I'm confirming this. My restart X cycle happens at approximately once every 5
or 6 hours of usage. The symptoms are exactly as mentioned, but with an
addition. /proc/dri/0/gem_objects shows a large number of GEM objects
