mine is similar except the mouse is not active and it doesn't work if I
reconfigure, nothing changes, if I do restart of the X Server the screen
flashes and with the tty view and then returns to the tty

Could someone please help me with this?, because it is very irritating I
can't use my computer at the moment because I need this driver, I know I
could use the regular drivers that don't allow OpenGL or Compiz, but I
need them. (This was sent from a different computer).

NVIDIA driver causes a flashing of the screen, but won't work and doesn't
start, this affects nvidia-glx-177, nvidia-glx-180 and nvidia-glx-185

The driver basically just fails.
