When I install nvidia-current, I get a black screen after the splash at
boot. The only remedy I can find is to boot into a recovery mode and
uninstall nvidia-current and return to nouveau, which has its own host
of critical problems.

after installing the nvidia proprietary drivers i can no longer use my
computer. after boot the screen never turns on. i get through grub and
the splash screen, but when X should come up the screen is off, not just
painting black but off. i cannot get to a console.

Chase the real problem is that it keeps firing the events after the
scroll has terminated. I can have my fingers off of the touchpad for
(what I interpret to be) close to a half second, and I'll still get bit
by zoom if I hit ctrl.

On natty with the multi-touch track pad on my macbook pro, when I do a fast
scroll on a tab, and then hit ctrl+w while the kinetic scroll is still in
progress, the system interprets this as ctrl+scroll and zooms into my page, and
then closes the tab.
