I noticed the top bar gets fixed when I installed cantarell fonts. Something
happens when a font package is installed that fixes most of Gnome Shell. The
tooltips are still distorted, though.

i'm experiencing the same problem with natty
if from gdm window i choose "ubuntu classic (with no effects)" Xorg log file
doesn't show anything strange;
if i choose "ubuntu classic" the warning "Xalloc: requesting unpleasantly large
amount of memory: 0 bytes." appears just once but Xorg seems to
installed on my asus eeepc 1215n 10.10 and it works nicely.
i'm sorry for the three-finger-tap issue, it would be very useful...

Hi. I editted the file xorg.conf and I changed the driver "nvidia" to
"nv", but the system starts without the video drivers installed, the
resolution is 800*600. I edited the file again and I changed the driver
"nv" to "nvidia" and the screen is normal with 1024*768 pixels, but the
problem persist

I've just tested the code attached here with this option Dave told us.
It works. Nothing freezes but the application itself.
Thus, it's definitely not a bug in Xorg or any driver. The problem is in Java
implementation for Linux.

Hi, I have reinstalled drivers version 96 (96.43.13) and Ubuntu starts
without problem with resolution 1024 * 768 85Hz but now the problem is
that the screen looks bad. When I select the option to "normal visual
