On some laptops there are two settings that dim the display so you need
to disable both. Please try:
Settings > Power > Automatic Screen Brightness = OFF
Settings > Power > Dim Screen = OFF

The display is dimming after a few seconds of "inactivity" despite
turning off the setting to dim the display. This seems to occur on any
