[i915] Black screen when I login in using kernel 5.8.0-59 but not
5.8
I wrote earlier that I was updating to version 21. This did not solve my
problems.
How do I best update ubuntu? Through the console?

That said, Ubuntu 20.10 reaches end of life this month so upgrading to
21.04 should probably be the next step. That will also give you kernel
version 5.11 which might hopefully work better.

I'll add this. That after I removed nvidia. I can now log in via recovery mode.
There is still a black screen for normal login.

Next please try logging into both 'Ubuntu' and 'Ubuntu on Wayland'. You
can select which using the button in the bottom right corner of the
login screen. Do either of those work with 5.8.0-59?
I cannot do this as I have a black screen and nothing.
This is not available in recovery mode.
