The DisplayLink engineer I asked no longer works for DisplayLink :(
The next step for anyone affected would be to try and get a better
quality stack trace because we need to find out what part of iris_dri.so
is really crashing. If you're on Ubuntu 20.04 then please install:

Some small good news: Both the Xorg crash and the Wayland crash appear
to have the same cause. Both are always preceded by:
kernel: i915 :00:02.0: Resetting rcs0 for hang on rcs0
and then either Xorg or gnome-shell (for Wayland sessions) crashes.

I just had the crash. I send you the new curboot file for investigation.
I have a new entry on /var/crash, but no "uploaded" and i can't ubuntu-bug the
crash file. There's no entry on "Error reports" webpage. As the crash file is
"_usr_lib_xorf_Xorg.1000.crash", i did a "ubuntu-bug xorg"
Please check the system journal on this virtual machine by running:
journalctl -f
in case this is another duplicate of bug 1880405 like bug 1915040 was.
